Terms of Use
These terms apply when you use AETHER, which is the website at aether.produsa.app and the web app at /app. AETHER is run by Boit Technologies Pvt Ltd, Bengaluru, India (“we”, “us”). By using AETHER, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
1. The service
AETHER is a browser-based spatial-audio processor. It uses virtual 7.1 HRTF, which stands for head-related transfer function, and signal processing to make headphone audio sound three-dimensional. The web app is currently free to use. It needs no account. All processing happens on your device, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Features we describe as “coming soon” or “on the roadmap” are plans, not promises. This includes desktop apps for Windows, macOS and Linux, as well as mobile apps.
2. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use AETHER to record, copy or redistribute audio you do not have the right to use. AETHER does not record anything, but you are responsible for the content you choose to play through it;
- attempt to disrupt, overload or attack the site, or get around its security;
- copy, resell or pass off the AETHER site, brand or code as your own.
3. Hearing safety
Spatial processing, bass boost and dynamics controls can make sound noticeably louder. Start at a low volume and turn it up gradually. Listening at high volume for long periods can permanently damage your hearing. Do not use immersive audio in situations where you need to hear your surroundings, such as while driving or cycling, or when crossing a road.
4. Third-party hardware and software
AETHER includes profiles and guidance for devices and software such as Razer headsets, THX Spatial Audio and Razer Synapse. These names are trademarks of their respective owners. AETHER is not affiliated with or endorsed by them. AETHER shapes the audio signal only. It does not control or change other vendors’ drivers or software.
5. Intellectual property
The AETHER name, design, website and app code belong to Boit Technologies Pvt Ltd. You may use AETHER for personal and commercial listening. These terms do not give you any other rights to our materials.
6. No warranty
AETHER is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work hard to make it good, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will work with every browser, operating system, headset or audio device. Browser support for sharing system audio varies. See the Documentation for details.
7. Limitation of liability
As far as the law allows, Boit Technologies Pvt Ltd will not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of AETHER. Because the service is free, our total liability to you is limited to INR 1,000. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.
8. Changes and termination
We may update AETHER or these terms from time to time. When we change the terms, we will update the date at the top of this page. If you keep using AETHER after a change, you accept the updated terms. We may suspend or discontinue the service at any time.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute about them.
